Mobility will be more enjoyable
Built by Japanese multinational company Asahi Kasei, the AKXY2 prototype car, is a quaint car with a boat-shaped bubble that has made its spacious exterior and interior the best place to host people for gathering.
The bubble rises to allow people into the cabin and goes down when it's time to drive. The AKXY2 came at the right time to celebrate the centenary of the company's founding on May 25, 1922, and it also marks the company's transition to producing cars that reach sustainability and satisfaction as a response to future mobility needs. The concept car comes equipped with a variety of interior technologies.
Asahi Kasei uses materials that will contribute to making commuting definitely more enjoyable. The inner surfaces are covered with microfiber leather made in part from recycled polyester, as well as other components including raw materials ranging from recycled PET, bio-PET, natural mixtures and ocean waste.
No diseases in the interior
Car seats are lined with three-dimensional mesh materials made of PET and PTT. Tires made of biobutadiene improve both fuel and energy efficiency. The manufacturer also says that one of the main themes of the AKXY2 revolves around the senses, from the smell of the cabin and the touch of textiles to the soundproofing atmosphere and futuristic feelings.
To meet cutting-edge safety needs, Asahi Kasei will use antimicrobial fabrics to protect the interior of the car from the spread of pathogens. The carbon dioxide sensor can monitor the carbon dioxide levels in the cabin to maintain optimal air quality while reducing energy use. Semi-transparent fabrics and backlighting, as well as plastic optical fibers, allow for the customization of ambient lighting inside the car, while sustainable textiles and foams aim to provide the seats with comfort. As mentioned before, the car will become more than just a means of transportation. It will be a place to socialize with friends and family, just like a yard of the house.
